It seemed a good time to revamp the look of the Calm Chicago website. The aim? Not just another pretty face but a refreshed appearance to coordinate with my sense of wanting to sharpen focus, clarify what we do here, interact with readers/students more and of course, make the site more user friendly. I have to say, I really like the warm look of this theme. Thanks to Jay Halfling and Bold Life.

I just realized that the one page I started this blog with is no longer a tenable option. Looking for posts on what interests you is like looking through a mountain of paper. I’m thinking – not so much!
So, with the new year, it’s time to learn more about how to construct a more user-friendly blog. I hope this helps. Please let me know what you think. I’d love to get your input so the blog can be more useful.
thanks, wishing peace and happiness to everyone,

Calm Chicago is getting ready for a great new year. We hope to offer more programs for individuals, groups and corporations in the coming years. And so, we return to the Zen circle and the Yin and Yang symbol, to better express the underlying ideas of our practice and teachings. As we prepare, we thank our teachers and students and all the friends and family, who make the center possible.
We’ll do our best to enter 2011 clearly, calmly and to live blamelessly.

New You Tube video of Yang taiji 24-form showing how students at Calm Chicago learn the upper body and lower body movements separately and then put them together.
Makes learning taiji a bit easier by allowing students to build up mindfulness as they train. The focus? – keeping practice simple.
The more we can practice and keep the taiji very simple. without a lot of fancy concepts, the more we can build up our mindful, single-pointed focus.
We’re in no hurry. Piece by piece.
Thanks for stopping by, Hillary
Check out the updated web site for new info and a streamlined look. Let me know what works for you out there. I’m not a very technical person…which is a major understatement. I welcome opinions and ideas.
You’ll find updated info about class times, retreats and more.
Also, we’re about to do a major change with Facebook. The whole goal is to make it all simpler and easy for you all to find, use and enjoy.
Also for the center, tell me what you all would like to see happen that’s not. Or what you like a lot. The center is here for you to help you relieve stress and calm the mind and body. I love to hear back from visitors anytime.
Peace and happiness to all, Hillary
